I am Hani Anouti, a political scientist with a Ph.D. in Political Science, a human rights activist, and a development practitioner with over two decades of experience working with international organizations, UN agencies, and academic institutions. I am deeply committed to Lebanon's sustainable development and the stability of the Middle East region. My work bridges research, policy, and practice in governance, geopolitics, Middle Eastern politics, human and minority rights, and artificial intelligence.

Biography
I am a Lebanese political scientist, educator, and development expert with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of Middle Eastern politics, academic research, and field-based development practice. I hold a Ph.D. in Political Science with a focus on Middle Eastern politics, and I have dedicated my career to advancing inclusive governance, human and minority rights, geopolitics, and conflict transformation in the age of artificial intelligence, with a particular emphasis on the Middle East and Lebanon.
Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with international NGOs, United Nations agencies, and local Lebanese civil society organizations, serving as a consultant and advisor on a wide range of development, human rights, emergency, and governance initiatives. I have contributed to policy design, program implementation, and strategic analysis in fragile and post-conflict settings.
In parallel with my policy work, I have built a strong academic profile. For the past 14 years, I have led my students to delve into political science, international relations, geopolitics, and Middle Eastern politics at leading universities in Lebanon and Spain.

أنا باحث لبناني في علم سياسة، وأستاذ جامعي، وخبير في التنمية، أتمتع بخبرة تتجاوز العشرين عاماً في تقاطع السياسة في الشرق الأوسط، والبحث الأكاديمي، والممارسة الميدانية في مجال التنمية. أحمل درجة الدكتوراه في العلوم السياسية مع تركيز على سياسات الشرق الأوسط، وقد كرّست مسيرتي المهنية لتعزيز الحوكمة الشاملة، وحقوق الإنسان وحقوق الأقليات، والجغرافيا السياسية، وتحويل النزاعات في عصر الذكاء الاصطناعي، مع تركيز خاص على منطقة الشرق الأوسط ولبنان.
عملتُ على نطاق واسع مع منظمات غير حكومية دولية، ووكالات تابعة للأمم المتحدة، ومنظمات مجتمع مدني محلية في لبنان، حيث شغلتُ أدواراً استشارية وتنسيقية في مجموعة واسعة من المبادرات المتعلقة بالتنمية وحقوق الإنسان والطوارئ والحوكمة.
وبالتوازي مع عملي في السياسات العامة، بنيتُ مساراً أكاديمياً قوياً. فعلى مدار السنوات الأربع عشرة الماضية، قمتُ بتدريس مقررات في العلوم السياسية، والعلاقات الدولية، والجغرافيا السياسية، والسياسة في الشرق الأوسط في جامعات مرموقة في لبنان وإسبانيا.
Vision: For Beirut and a Better Lebanon
As a Beiruti—born and raised in Beirut—I hold a deep and personal commitment to the city and its people. For me, Beirut is more than just the capital; it is an identity, a spirit, and a culture. It represents unity, resilience, diversity, creativity, and unmatched potential.
A central theme in my work is the urgent need for comprehensive reform—especially in Lebanon's political and electoral systems. I firmly believe that reforming the electoral law is a foundational step toward building a more representative and accountable democracy. Without a fair and transparent electoral system, no other reform can take root.
My broader vision is of a Lebanon where public policy is shaped by knowledge, where diversity is not only respected but celebrated, and where every citizen is empowered to shape their political destiny. I envision a society in which youth, women, and civil society are at the heart of national revival—where civic engagement leads to real and tangible, people-centered transformation.
الرؤية: من أجل بيروت ولبنان أفضل
كبيروتي، وُلِدت ونشأت في بيروت، أَحمل التزاماً عميقاً وشخصياً تجاه هذه المدينة وأهلها. بالنسبة لي، بيروت ليست مجرد عاصمة، بل هي هوية وروح وثقافة. إنها رمز للوحدة، والمرونة، والتنوّع، والإبداع، والإمكانات الفريدة والطاقة الإيجابية.
أحد المحاور المركزية في عملي هو الحاجة الملحة لإصلاح شامل، وخصوصاً في النظامين السياسي والانتخابي في لبنان. أؤمن بشدة أن إصلاح القانون الانتخابي هو الخطوة الأساسية نحو بناء ديمقراطية أكثر تمثيلاً ومساءلة.
رؤيتي الأوسع هي للبنان يُدار فيه الشأن العام بناءً على المعرفة، وتُحتفى فيه بالتنوّع، ويُحترم فيه المواطن ويُمنح القوة ليُحدّد مستقبله السياسي. أتخيّل مجتمعاً يكون فيه للشباب والنساء والمجتمع المدني دورٌ حاسم في النهوض الوطني.
